Spiritual Food For Victorious Living

  • We believe the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God.
  • We believe in one God, eternally existent in the three persons of the Godhead; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the deity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his atoning death, his resurrection, his ascension into heaven and his future return to rapture His Church.
  • We believe the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.
  • We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.
  • We believe the Spirit-filled life empowers the Christian to live a victorious life.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life the other to everlasting damnation.

Worship at UCF

While visiting UCF you may have questions about why we worship the way we do. The following information will help you understand forms of worship, which may not be common to your personal experiences.  God Himself is a God of form (Gen. 1:2). Until we allow God to shape and form us we have no purpose in life.

Why we stand?
It is out of respect that we stand to praise the Lord.  It also shows that we are being attentive.  It is out of an act of recognition that we are entering the presence of The Almighty God.

Why we sing?
Singing is one of the key forms of worship. In fact there are over 120 references in the Bible on it.  Any mood of the heart, or the spirit can be expressed in song.

Why do we lift our hands?
1 Timothy 2:8 “I desire therefore that in every place men should pray… lifting up holy hands.” This denotes our reverence and utter dependence upon Him.

Why do we dance and shout?
Psalms 47:1 “O clap your hands all ye people, shout unto God with the voice of triumph.” David danced before the Lord with all his might (II Samuel 6:14).  We shout to proclaim extreme and dynamic feeling.

Why do we place oil on individuals while praying for them?
James 5:14 states, “Is any sick among you? Let him call the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord…” Oil is a type or example of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Why do we place hands upon people when praying for them?
Mark 16:18 states, “…they (believers) shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover…” The practice of laying hands on individuals is a point of contact and intimacy with the person(s) being prayed for.  It is an acknowledged doctrine of the church. (Hebrews 6:2)
